Many people do not realize that there is a DOS command line in each computer that will be used to perform a variety of practical features, including restart another computer to be embedded. The remote computer reboot is actually much easier than most people think. Here you will find step by step instructions for remote reboot using the command prompt.


Preparing the computer that you want to restart

The first step is to enable remote reboot of the computer in question.

1- To do this, you need to be on the computer as an administrator.

2- It is then necessary to enter the Run from the Start menu.

3- Once in the execution window, you simply need to enter services.msc and click OK.

4- A list of available services appears and you have to scroll down until you see Remote Registry on the list.

5- Select and right-click it and select Properties from the menu.

6- Under Startup Type, select Automatic.

7- You want to change, you have your firewall to allow Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to access it. How it depends on the firewall you are using.

8- Finally, you need to right click My Computer and select the properties menu. Scroll to Settings domain and group work at the computer to find the name of the computer. Keep this in mind for future use.

Once you have completed these steps that the computer needs to be restarted from a remote location ready.

Restart the remote computer

Once you know that the computer you started from a remote terminal set up correctly, you will be able to run a remote reboot using the command prompt. To do this, you need to connect to any Windows computer with an administrator account. The next step is to open the Start menu and select Run. The command you need to enter is cmd.exe. Once the window opens DOS type shutdown / i and press Enter.

Then you will see the Remote Shutdown dialog box appears on the screen. At this point, and click Add, and then enter the name of the computer from earlier. Once you've done that, simply apply the desired settings and click OK named to shut down or restart the computer. This does not apply to computers that are connected to the same LAN to work.
